“Why do houses and vehicles burn sooner and much worse than trees, shrubs and organics?”

Because the heat is directed by energy beams that primarily target (and superheat) metals / man-made objects. Why?? To burn-out inhabitants, making way for resource- and/or land-grab, “smart” or 15-minute cities, high-speed rail, etc. The evidence for so outrageous a claim is overwhelming and growing with each new manufactured event.
